Bahamas CruisesĪs with Mexico, if you travel on a closed-loop cruise, passports are not required for passengers of any age. Otherwise, a photo ID and birth certificate are enough for identification. However, they do require a passport for other Mexico-based cruises, so it is often best to carry your passport anyway. If you’re traveling on a closed-loop cruise, Mexico doesn’t require a passport for passengers to disembark the boat for day trips. Children under 16 do not need any documentation at all, and those over 16 only need a driver’s license or other photo ID. These cruises travel around the islands of Hawaii, which is all US territory. For children under 16, they’ll need a birth certificate. Your driver’s license or regular ID and a birth certificate will meet their requirements.
